John 15:1-8: In today's gospel Jesus calls himself the strong vine(plant), and we are the branches of the vine. To be our best selves, the best person that God created us to be, we must remain on the vine, connected to the vine gathering life from it.

Feast days: May 10 St. John of Avila - May 12 World Fair Trade Day – Combat child labor and unfair working conditions by buying fair-trade products such as cocoa, coffee or body-care products. May 13 Mother's Day/ Our Lady of Fatima – Plant a flower on this day in honor of Mary, the mother of us all, and all mothers.

May is the month of Mary, Our Blessed Mother. In your home you can place a small statue with some flowers or a Rosary where you can see it and say a decade of the Rosary each evening. “Mary, give us your grace and patience and help us to be good parents for our children who are gifts from God”. You are also invited to lay fresh flowers before the crowned statue of Mary in HGA church

Richmond Academy Interact Club will host a Moctail Evening at Richmond Academy on Tuesday, May 8 at 6PM to raise $800.00 to purchase supplies needed to build a latrine for an elementary school in Africa. Eastern Counties Regional Library will be visiting L'Ardoise (Community Center) Tuesday, May 8 from 3:00 to 6:00 pm. This library service is free to the public. For more info call 747-2597.

The Grand River Senior's Club will be holding its annual Mother's Day Breakfast on Saturday, May 12th from 7:30–10:30AM, at the Grand River Fire hall. $7.00 for adults, children under 5 are free.

The 8th Annual Eastwood Davidson Memorial Bursary Concert will be held on Saturday, May 12th at 7PM at the St. Peter's Lion's Hall, St. Peter's NS. Tickets are $15.00 per person and can be purchased from Verna Mann at 535-2166. Entertainment includes: Howie MacDonald, Patrick Gillis, Mac Morin, Glenn Graham, Donnie Campbell, Harold and Myles Davidson, MacKayla MacNeil and Donna Marie DeWolfe. Proceeds to graduating students at Richmond Academy.

Heavy Garbage Collection Program will be carried out in Richmond County from May 14th to June 9th, 2012. Important dates to remember are
week 1 (May 14-19) for Point Michaud and Lr L'Ardoise and Grand River
week 2 (May 22-26) for L'Ardoise to St. Peters
week 3 (June 4-9) Richmond E of St. Peters Canal
Material must be at the curbside by 8:00 A.M. on the first day of the week in which collection is scheduled for your area. For more info visit the Municipality of Richmond website or call 226-2400.

Variety Concert, Lakeside Community Centre, Sampsonville, Sunday, May 20th at 7:30pm. Please join us for a fun filled evening of music and song with lunch served at break time. Admission is $5.00

Home visits: Father Mariadoss has begun to visit the houses and to meet the people. At this time you may ask him to bless your home, your car, etc. Father is now proceeding east towards Lower L'Ardoise.

Annual Meting – The annual meeting of the Dr. W.B. Kingston Community Health Centre will be held on Monday May 28th 2012 at 7:00pm in the L'Ardoise Community Centre. The report from the Pyra Consultants Review will be addressed at this meeting. The public are invited to attend. The Board
