John 12:20-23 Think about what happens to seeds planted in the ground,warmed by the sun and watered by the rain. In today's Gospel Jesus tells Phillip and Andrew what will happen to him. Pottie 587-2480, Lorraine Westlake 587-2007 or Maureen Sampson 587-2517 Behold the Cross: If we are going to be followers of Jesus, he tells us that each person must “take up his cross, and follow me”(Mt:16:24). The Stations of the Cross is an ancient meditation on Jesus' journey to the cross and eventually the tomb. Usually offered on Fridays(6:30pm) throughout Lent and especially on Good Friday(2:15), participating in the Stations as a family is a way to acknowledge our own crosses and is a reminder that Christ's suffering offers hope in the midst of daily struggles. Talk with your children about the crosses they might be carrying. Are they struggling with peer pressure? Our crosses are bearable because Jesus promises to help us carry them. After all, He reminds us, “my yoke is easy, and my burden light”(Mt 11:30). The Diocese of Antigonish is asking parishoners to help determine its pastoral direction for the next five years. Bishop Dunn says “The recent events that have touched every person in our diocese have led to a great deal of reflection upon the Church's need to bring justice, compassion, healing, hope and new life to the people of God”. It's important that we all have a voice to achieve healing and direction for our diocesan family. Adult Choir: Choir practice will be on Monday, March 26@ 2:00PM.
