Holy Hour every Friday following Mass.

Holy Guardian Angels Parish is a Catholic Christian Community. Everyone is called to be on a spiritual journey and what matters is being on that journey. We are all in a different place on this journey. We wish to welcome all people, regardless of the place they are on their spiritual journey, struggles and failures. We ask that you be open to God. We believe God calls each member of our parish to worship, to grow, to serve, to connect and to give.

Help Wanted: We are in need of more lay ministers: alter servers, lectors, extraordinary ministers of the Eucharist and people to bring up the gifts. Please think about how you could help. Also, we need several Teachers and helpers for our Religious Education program each Wednesday , 2:30- 3:30 at EREC in St. Peters. We begin in late September 2013 and end in early May 2014. Substitutes are available if you have to be away. Call Maureen 587-2517

Please join us for a very special event at 8 p.m. on Saturday, July 6, 2013, at the Boardmore Playhouse, Cape Breton University. The Men of the Deeps will be performing a Tribute Concert in Honour of the 100th Anniversary of St. Mary’s Polish Parish. Participating in the concert will be the Choir of St. Mary’s Polish Parish. The hymns, songs, and stories will pay homage to the immigrant experience, to faith, to perseverance, and to the Polish heritage. Selections will include some of the Men of the Deeps’ renowned favourites, songs honouring immigrant workers, plus Polish hymns by the parish choir that have special meaning for the parish, the Polish miners’ waltz, and, for the first time, a verse of Working Man in Polish. The event is being hosted by the St. Michael’s Polish Benefit Society, the local organization (still going strong) that first petitioned for a Polish parish in Cape Breton.

Prayer to Our Lady of Guadalupe

Our Lady of Guadalupe, mystical rose, make intersession for holy Church, protect the sovereign pontiff, help all those who invoke you in their necessities, and since you art the ever Virgin Mary and Mother of the true God, obtain for us from your most holy Son the grace of keeping our faith, sweet hope in the midst of the bitterness of life, burning charity and the precious gift of final perseverance.
