2nd Sunday of Lent
February 24, 2013
Luke:9:28b-36 While Jesus, Peter, John and James are on a mountain praying, Jesus is transformed before his disciples-full of glory. Peter, John and James see him talking with Moses and Elijah, Old Testament figures representing the law and the Prophets. The apostles want to build three tents and to stay there. As they say this, a cloud overshadows them and they hear a voice saying, “This is my chosen Son; listen to Him”.

L'Ardoise Prayer and Faith Sharing Group Glebe House following Mass on Tuesday. All are welcome.
On this day we Celebrate: March 1–World Day of Prayer.
World Day of Prayer will be celebrated Sunday, March 3@2pm in the St. Peters Fire Hall. The theme is “I was a stranger and you welcomed me” This year's service is written by the women of France and hosted by St Peter's Christian Church. All local churches are involved and everyone is welcome.
Daily Mass Scripture and Reflections for the Sacred Season
Sunday, Feb. 24- Father in Faith- God establishes families and nations, protecting those who are faithful.(Genesis 15:5-18)
Monday -Feb.25 Integrity – God doesn't shame those who admit their sins. When they repent, they find forgiveness. (Daniel 9:4-10)
Tuesday – Feb 26 – Humble Thyself- God doesn't want sacrifices this lent, but grateful service to the Father. (Matthew 23:1-12
Wednesday – Feb. 27- The Cup- The Father did not save his Son from death; instead, he transformed death forever. (Matthew 20;17--28)
Thursday – Feb.28- Listen to the Word- Scripture is a path to heaven, leading from the prophets to eternal life. (Luke 16:19-31)
Friday – Mar. 01 – Family – Brothers and sisters in Christ are priceless, so do not sell them out. (Gen.37:3-4, 12-28
Saturday – Mar. 02 – Justice- The Lord is merciful, rewarding repentant sinners and giving generously to all. Luke 15:1-3, 11-32
Share Lent- Development & Peace: This year's campaign slogan is HUMAN DIGNITY-MORE THAN EVER, celebrates the inherent dignity of all human beings. It invites us to take an active role in this collective effort to raise awareness and support for our brothers & sisters in the Global South. Collection for Development & Peace will be taken up on Good Friday.

Acadian Day Festival We have now passed our 50th Year of Festivals and we have to think about what our plans will be for further ones. There will be a meeting on Sunday, March 03 at 10.00AM in the meeting room in the center. Everyone is welcome. July is only five months away.
