Lent: The word Lent comes from an Old English word that means”springtime'. Like the new life that is born in the spring, Lent calls each of us to renew our life in Christ as we look forward to Easter renewal and the Resurrection. This year, let us use the six weeks of this holy season to join in solidarity with the millions of members of our Catholic family who are praying, fasting and giving alms as we await the resurrection of Our Lord.
Intention: For family and friends who no longer go to Church.
Fasting: Sacrifice: Turn the Television and computer off one night this week. Play a game, go for a walk or read a book together.
Almsgiving:Action: Select three cans of your favorite foods from your cupboard to give to a local Food Bank.
