* Mark 12:1-12: As Jesus was teaching in a small one-room home, four men brought their friend on a stretcher and lowered him into the crowded room through a hole they had cut into the roof. Jesus first forgives his sins, and then cures him.

Lent: The word Lent comes from an Old English word that means”springtime'. Like the new life that is born in the spring, Lent calls each of us to renew our life in Christ as we look forward to Easter renewal and the Resurrection. This year, let us use the six weeks of this holy season to join in solidarity with the millions of members of our Catholic family who are praying, fasting and giving alms as we await the resurrection of Our Lord.

Week 1
Intention: For family and friends who no longer go to Church.
Fasting: Sacrifice: Turn the Television and computer off one night this week. Play a game, go for a walk or read a book together.
Almsgiving:Action: Select three cans of your favorite foods from your cupboard to give to a local Food Bank.

Artisans Sale: As part of the Acadian Festival's 50 th Anniversary we are having a Local Artisans

February 21- Mardi Gras (Shrove Tuesday) Pancake day. The traditional colors of Mardi Gras are purple represents justice;green, faith and gold, power.

The winner of the Sweetheart basket sponsored by the L'Ardoise Adult Recreation Club was Jane Anne Sampson – Shane Sampson of Pt. Michaud drew the ticket.

Thank You: The family of the late Albert J. Sampson would like to thank all family and friends for their kindness shown during their father's passing, and to all the people who donated to charities in the memory of their father and brother Kenny, offered Masses and brought snacks. They would also wish to extend their appreciation to the ladies of the community for the luncheon served and the family members who helped with the arraignments

NOTE: There is a box of woolen slippers in the Vestry of the Church. If you wish to take one or more pairs you can pick them up after Mass.
