Luke:5:1-11: After the disciples have been fishing all night and caught nothing, Jesus tells them to put their nets out again. Not sure, but trusting in Jesus, they do it - and catch an overflow Then Jesus tells them he has a bigger job for them: to be his disciple and reach out to people.

Diocesan Renewal Congress
Q.#3 – HOW IS THE RENEWAL CONGRESS FINANCED?
A. No money is available from diocesan sources. Other sources had to be found. Planning Team approached the Bishop Power Family Charitable Foundation for a grant. The board of Directors approved a starter amount of $10,000.00. This was followed by donations from priests $6000.00; laity $2000.00; sisters of the diocese $7000.00; CWL $100.00; KOC $50.00 and a donation in memory of a loved one $50.00. There is an additional grant from Bishop Power Foundation of $12,500.00 Total to date is $37,700.00. We still need to raise approximately $25,000 to meet the projected budget.
Q.#4 WHAT IS MEANT BY A 'FIVE YEAR PLAN' FOR THE DIOCESE ?
A. Delegates at the Diocesan Renewal Congress are mandated to formulate a plan for direction in our diocese, with goals and time lines that are related to the needs voiced by the people in the Questionnaires that many answered. After five years, the achievements will be evaluated and further plans can be made to meet our needs. Delegates are committing themselves, their parishes and diocese to a common vision and action. The family of the late Melinda Martell wish to acknowledge the love and support accorded a special mother, sister, aunt and friend. Richmond Villa staff and residents were an integral part of life for Mom during the past 17 years and we are grateful to all those who made a special place in their heart in her new home.
At her passing we were strengthened by the many acts of kindness from family and friends. Her Christian farewell was testament to her rich faith and to her life of service to others. God bless each one of you for affecting our lives. Mary Ann & Allen
