Place the name of your deceased loved one on a small angel figurine and place it in the box at the back of the church . We shall also be taking donations for Christmas flowers in memory of your deceased loved ones. This Sunday is the second Sunday of Advent. There will be a Jessie Tree in Holy Guardian Angels Church for anyone wishing to donate. There will also be a tree at the Post Office in L'Ardoise for anyone who wishes to make a donation there. Eastern Counties Regional Library (no visits in December) We are in week two of the Evena Prayer Cards from Chalice. Our efforts are to drench our parish in prayer in this Year of Faith because praying for one another is one of the greatest gifts we can give ourselves and our loved ones. We are reminded to pray for someone specific once in church when we light the candles on the Advent Wreath, and then twice more at home, using the prayers on the Prayer Card. We may mail the cards immediately OR bring them to church on Dec. 23 (last Sunday in Advent) where they will be blessed and mailed out. Decorating of the Church for Christmas will be on Sunday, December 16 at 1:00PM. There will be coffee served. This is a good way to get the Christmas spirit. The cleaning of the Church will be done on Monday, December 17 @ 9:00AM. Good News (RNS) The former rector of the nation's largest Episcopal church has become a Roman Catholic. The Rev. Larry Gipson was dean of the Cathedral Church of the Advent in Birmingham from 1982-94. Gipson retired in 2008 from the 8,000-member St. Martin's Episcopal Church in Houston, where his parishioners included former President George H.W. Bush and his wife, Barbara.
