6th Sunday of Lent
Palm Sunday of the Passion of the Lord
April 1, 2012
Mark 11:1-10 or John 12:12-16 and Mark 14:1--15:47 Today we begin the liturgy with the blessing of the palms, hearing the Gospel of Jesus entering Jerusalem, being greeted enthusiastically by the people as they waved palms. During the liturgy of the Word, we hear the events of the Holy Week and the Passion of Jesus.

The H.G.A. Church will be open to the public for Holy Week, April 1 to April 8. Anyone wishing to visit and say a prayer is more than welcome.
Adult Choir: Practice, Tuesday, April 3, @ 1:00PM, to prepare for Holy Week.

Action: Attend the Stations of the Cross in Your Parish.
Fasting/Sacrifice:Instead of playing a computer/video game, do one thing you've been putting off.

Tomorrow The National Catholic Mission 2012, “Three Troubling Questions”, will be broadcast on VISIONTV on Monday, April 2, (Pt. 1) and Tuesday, April 3(Pt 2) at 7:00PM and repeated at 11:00PM. It will feature Father John Heagle, Sister Barbara Leonhard O.F.S., James McGill and Father Pat Fitzpatrick – all of whom will deal with questions that trouble us all.
The Chrism Mass for the Antigonish Diocese will be held in Our Lady of Assumption Church in Arichat on Monday, April 2 at 4:00pm.

The Diocese of Antigonish is asking parishioners to help determine its pastoral direction for the next five years. Bishop Dunn says “The recent events that have touched every person in our diocese have led to a great deal of reflection upon the Church's need to bring justice, compassion, healing, hope and new life to the people of God”. It's important that we all have a voice to achieve healing and direction for our diocesan family.
The papers for discussion and for your recommendations & suggestions are at the entrance to the Church. Please take one and upon completion return it to the Church before the first Sunday in May. All papers will be forwarded to the deanery and diocesan levels.

Holy Thursday starts the Easter Triduum, which includes Food Friday, the Easter Vigil and Easter Sunday.
